Membership

CPVA Membership

Advocacy-based organizations depend upon our members to help us advance the causes we believe in and participate in events important to us. CPVA offers four levels of membership: Regular, Associate, Life and Honorary.

REGULAR MEMBERS

A Regular Membership includes all military and RCMP veterans under the VAC definition, and other police officers or civilians who have participated in any kind of peacekeeping, peacemaking, peace support, humanitarian mission, or any related operations.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

An Associate Membership includes any person who supports the aims of the CPVA and wishes to be involved in its activities.

LIFE MEMBERSHIP

Life Memberships may be bestowed upon a member of CPVA as an honour by authority of the CPVA National Honour and Awards Committee.

HONORARY MEMBERSHIP

Honorary Memberships may be bestowed upon any person not already included as a Regular, Associate or Life Member, as an honour by authority of the CPVA National Honour and Awards Committee. Honorary memberships are life-long memberships.

Members have the choice of joining one of our Chapters across the country or maintaining a National Membership. Chapters provide a fraternal relationship, featuring some combination of service to the community and regular get-togethers among the members. If you're outside the catchment area of our Chapters, you may opt for a National Membership instead. Regardless, all members (except Honorary Members) enjoy full voting privileges and participation in CPVA activities.

Download the membership application form (PDF). You can send the form back by email or postal service.

What's in a Name?

The matter of who can be a full member of CPVA
came up during the 2020 Annual General Meeting,
and a decision was made to defer the topic
for a more meaningful conversation
throughout the year and return to it in 2021.
