On this page you will find an Application Form to join Canada's most pro-active veterans association that was recognized on more than one occasion for making a difference for all veterans and their families.

CPVA respects the service and sacrifice of all veterans and their families and as a result accept all veterans as regular members. CPVA built its reputation assisting and advocating on behalf of all post WWII veterans. We have found that the practice of including groups of veterans leads to the exclusion of others which in todays terms is discriminatory. Post WWII veterans have been excluded since 1945 for this very reason.

The Canadian Forces and Veterans Affairs have been experiencing great difficulty in applying benefits equitably because they have assigned inappropriate values to the place that a person served rather than based on the fact that they did serve. What all citizens have in common who've served in the Canadian Forces since WWII is that they have all served on Active Service (except for an approximate twenty five year period of Canada only service from 1947 to 1973).

Prior to 20 November 1973, only those who served overseas in; France and Germany during the Cold War, the Korean War, all the Peacekeeping missions were on Active Service by Order in Council under authority of the National Defence Act. Since 20 November 1973, the Regular component of the Canadian Forces, in Canada and Overseas have been on Active Service by the same authority. This includes those who served during the Gulf War, Somalia, East Timor and Afghanistan. By law all are equal.

Qualification for the benefits of the WWII "Veterans Charter" and the Korean War "Veterans Benefits Act" along with the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal for both Wars was Active Service. As you now know, despite being equal under the laws of Canada, WWII and to a lesser degree, Korean War veterans were treated better than post WWII veterans have been.
